You can feel it in downtown Fort Wayne and throughout the city. Excitement is building as the latest core component of downtown and economic development – the adaptive re-use of the former GE campus – begins to take shape. Electric Works is a mixed-use district of innovation, energy, and culture, developed as a public/private partnership between RTM Ventures and the City of Fort Wayne. A redevelopment and reuse of the former General Electric campus, Electric Works includes 39 acres, 18 historic buildings and more than 1.2 million square feet of space for office, retail, residential, hotel, and entertainment uses.

Electric Works is partnering with Hyde Brothers Booksellers for our Wednesday Walks series this Wednesday, July 11. Kourtney Jones of The Poem Market will guide us through a literary journey by leading guests from the EW campus to Hyde Brothers storefront on Well Street, reading work from local authors along the way. Upon reaching Hyde Brothers, Jones will author an on-the-spot poem inspired by the event. Tour with us to support local authors and to witness art in the making. This is a free event!
Dress weather appropriate and bring water along!
Please part at 1030 Swinney Ave’s Credit Union parking lot on the south side of Swinney Ave.
