“Hogworks Takeover” is a free, all-ages event that will feature a number of Hogwarts-inspired interactive experiences and opportunities to raise funds for more than three dozen community nonprofit and support organizations. Highlights of the event include classes on potions and magical creatures, vendors selling magical products, whimsically themed food and drink for purchase, and live music from local talent. The event will take place on October 5, hosted by Electric Works, in partnership with Blessings in a Backpack.
“We were eager to launch our collaborative fall friendraiser event with many of our partner organizations across Ft. Wayne and were excited with the opportunity to work with Electric Works in their mission to build community on its campus,” said Jama Ross, executive director for Blessings in a Backpack. “Add to it the beautiful, historic buildings and the brick-lined Dynamo Alley, and the location is perfect for creating a pop-up wizarding world for everyone to come together.”
“We are honored to bring this incredibly creative and inclusive event to the community,” said Katy Silliman, senior director of experience for Electric Works. “Thanks to the involvement of an amazing group of organizations, this event will make for a truly magical experience for fans of all ages – and provide critical support to these same organizations in the process.”
“Hogworks Takeover” will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Electric Works. For additional event information and a full list of participating community nonprofits and support organizations, visit the event page online.
