Fort Wayne
Electric Works

About the Project

Innovation has a rich history on this site. For over 130 years, as home to Gause Agriculture Works, Jenney Electric, the Fort Wayne Electric Works, and the General Electric Company, thousands of people have worked here turning ideas into reality.

The vision for redevelopment of the former General Electric campus is to create a mixed-use district of innovation, energy, and culture, infused with the inventive history of Fort Wayne. To achieve that vision will require a process of engaging the private sector, the public sector, and the community. In the coming months, we’ll be working to understand the opportunities and constraints of the site and existing buildings, as well as the market.  We will be reaching out to stakeholders, the neighborhood, and the greater Fort Wayne community.
