Electric Works to host “Ready. Set. School!” community back-to-school celebration

FORT WAYNE, Ind., Aug. 7, 2026 – As the school year begins, the community is invited to celebrate students, families and educators at “Ready. Set. School!” from noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 9, at Electric Works.

Admission is free for the community back-to-school celebration, and the first 50 families in attendance will receive a backpack filled with school supplies due to a generous partnership with United Way of Allen County. In addition to that, Fort Wayne Community Schools will join to help distribute supplies. Electric Works is proud to partner with United Way of Allen County and Fort Wayne Community Schools on this event.

Families can enjoy games and activities for all ages at “Ready. Set. School!” The celebration will also feature a school supply exchange, where families are encouraged to bring unused school supplies to share with others or pick up supplies to prepare for the school year. Any remaining supplies will be donated to Electric Works-based Amp Lab and local schools.

Teachers are invited to relax and recharge in the Teacher’s Lounge, a dedicated space for educators with complimentary drinks, snacks and hourly giveaways.

Union Street Market merchants will offer special back-to-school promotions and treats throughout the afternoon. Local indie-rock band Jadon Knapp and the Crisis will perform from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

“Ready. Set. School!” is designed to support students, celebrate educators and bring families together as they prepare for the new school year.
