Historic West Central Neighborhood Walk

Walk with us along the Broadway corridor and into the West Central Neighborhood! You’ll learn about neighborhood development, historic architecture, brick streets, and early residents of the area. We will make a stop at the West Central Micro Creamery & Cafe for some cold treats.

About the Guide: With a graduate degree in Historic Preservation from Ball State University, Jill Downs has spent over 15 years working with organizations and individuals to provide research and writing services related to historic preservation efforts. Downs is the author of several successful nominations to the National Register of Historic Places, and a co-author of a National Register of Historic Places Multiple Property Document on Lustron Houses in Indiana. Downs also has experience working on neighborhood and downtown planning and revitalization efforts, housing rehabilitation, and economic development.
