Three Rivers Music Theatre has signed a letter of intent to lease space at Electric Works. The organization, founded in 2016, is expanding operations to include rehearsal, performance and education spaces. The community group’s Triple Threat Performance Arts Academy provides arts education programs to hundreds of students each year.

Sport Wayne, the organization behind the Fort Wayne Adventure Games, has signed a letter of intent to design and open a sizable, state-of-the-art climbing gym and adventure park, named Rush Rock Gym, at Electric Works.

Fort Wayne Metals has signed a letter of intent to lease space at the former General Electric property with initial plans for dedicated space for materials research and development.

Fort Wayne Electric Works was highlighted in Dublin-based Irish Times on the rebound of Rust Belt cities.

“Even as other major cities in the region, such as Pittsburgh, have growing economies while losing population, Fort Wayne is both growing its economy and adding residents – a 25 per cent increase between 2000 and 2013.

“The big money remains  [with] established legacy corporations – universities, health services groups and city authorities – that are ponying up the cash to fund multimillion dollar projects such as the Dayton Arcade and Fort Wayne’s Electric Works.”
